Dogwood Canyon Outdoor Wedding Pictures

Sarah and Dan were married inside the beautiful Hope Wedding Chapel at Dogwood Canyon in Lampe, MO.

While it was a wonderful ceremony, this post is about what we did outside after Sarah and Dan were married!

Touring the Park

As an optional add-on to wedding packages, Dogwood Canyon offers private, guided tours of the nature park for newly married couples -- and, their wedding photographers

After taking the tour with several couples, I can't recommend it enough.  From waterfalls to scenic bridges, rocks and streams, it's an opportunity to be photographed on your wedding day against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful places in America.

This first image of the three little bridesmaids, along with several others you'll see below, are among my favorite pictures from Sarah and Dan's wedding day...

Dogwood Canyon Wedding Pictures

One of my favorite places to shoot pictures--especially wedding and engagement photos--is Dogwood Canyon in Lampe, Missouri.

Nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in Southwest Missouri between Branson and the Arkansas border, Dogwood Canyon offers some of the most scenic locations and backdrops for wedding and engagement photography that I've ever seen.

Amy and Joshua's wedding ceremony took place in the Hope Wedding Chapel at Dogwood Canyon.  We spent about an hour together before their ceremony exploring the beautiful waterfalls, paths, and parkways on a guided tour, stopping at many locations along the way to capture their wedding photos.

If you're planning a wedding at Dogwood Canyon, I'd strongly suggest scheduling the guided tour with your wedding photographer, too!

Here are some sample pictures from this couple's special day...

Engagement Pictures - Lake Springfield

I have a new addition to my growing list of great locations for engagement pictures in Springfield, MO:

Lake Springfield Park!

In contrast to the paved walkways and beautifully maintained gardens at Nathanael Greene Close Memorial Park, the hills and cliffs around Lake Springfield shimmer with natural, seemingly untouched beauty... but do require a bit of mild hiking to get to the most scenic locations.

I spent about an hour walking (and hiking) in the park with David and Angel, stopping at many spots along the way to capture some special moments for their engagement pictures.  Here's a sample of some of my favorites:

Engagement Pictures-Nathanael Greene Close Memorial Park

Among the most beautiful locations in Springfield, MO for engagement photography, Nathanael Greene Close Memorial Park offers a little something for everyone.

I met Sarah and Dan at the park on a Sunday afternoon in late January, and spent about 90 minutes walking the grounds with them, shooting their engagement pictures in a variety of settings along the way.

I've always believed that putting my clients at ease in front of the camera, and making sure they have fun on their engagement shoot, is just important as taking good pictures.  People always look better when they're relaxed and having fun, plus it gives me an opportunity to capture natural emotions, genuine smiles, etc. during those special moments.

As a naturally laid-back, fun loving couple, Sarah and Dan made the first part of my job very easy!  Here are some sample images from their outdoor engagement shoot at the park in Springfield, MO...

I'll be shooting Sarah and Dan's wedding pictures later this Spring at Dogwood Canyon, and already can't wait!  Until then, please join me in congratulating this wonderful couple, and as always thank you for reading!
