Expect the Unexpected

As all wedding photographers know, every moment at a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event.

You have to be ready at all times to capture those special moments and memories... whether they are happy, sad, romantic, or in some cases... just plain funny.

One of my favorite things to do while shooting "formal" poses after the ceremony is to ask the bride and groom to kiss while others in the shot look on.

That's exactly what I did in this shot, which features the bride, groom, and the groom's kids.

Of course there was a little acting and drama involved, but it was nonetheless one of those priceless, once-in-a-lifetime moments that's sure to produce a few laughs and smiles for many years to come:)

Future Flower Girl

Here's a picture that definitely deserves it's own post, from a wedding I photographed this past weekend in Branson, Missouri. 

No caption or description seems necessary, except to say that this was one of those unexpected, unposed moments that so often produces the best wedding memories... and wedding photos!

Delana and James: Seminole Baptist Temple Wedding

Start with a beautiful bride who can't wait to marry the man she loves. 

Mix in a towering stained-glass window backdrop, plenty of smiles, a few tears, and a sparkler illuminated send-off... and you've got the recipe for a wonderful evening wedding!

Delana and James' wedding at the Seminole Baptist Temple in Springfield, MO featured all of that, and more.

Here's a sample selection of final pictures from this couple's special day.  I started shooting their wedding photos as Delana's mother and grandmother were helping her make some final preparations, about an hour before the ceremony...

Branson, MO Wedding Photography: Shell Knob

DeeDee and Joel's wedding took place at a beautiful private home in Shell Knob, Missouri overlooking Table Rock Lake.

Afterwards, guests and family were treated to a reception at the Shell Knob Community Center, which featured dinner, dancing... and lots of fun!

As with all of the weddings I photograph, my goal was to tell the story of DeeDee and Joel's special day through pictures.  So I began shooting their wedding pictures as the bride was making her final preparations, in a private cabin at The Timbers Resort in Shell Knob...

DeeDee and Joel's wedding ceremony took place on an outdoor deck in Shell Knob, MO.  If you look closely, you can see Table Rock Lake in the background!

After the ceremony, we went down by the lake to take some pictures of the couple, their bridal party... and some cool footwear:)

Then of course it was on to the reception at the Shell Knob Community Center, where DeeDee and Joel's guests were treated to a catered dinner by Touch Restaurant of Springfield, dancing, and a wonderful wedding cake...
